Anant Ji grew up on the banks of the Ganga river, surrounded by spiritual teachers and old traditions passed down through generations. This environment shaped a specific kind of curiosity in him, not just about yoga as a physical practice, but about how the body, mind, and spirit actually connect on a real, functional level. He followed that curiosity into formal science, completing a Master’s degree in Biology and teaching health science in Rishikesh for several years, before later adding a 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training and deep, focused study in Ayurveda.
Anatomy can feel dry or overly technical to many students walking into yoga training for the first time, but Anant Ji has a clear gift for making it simple without losing accuracy. He avoids heavy medical jargon wherever he can, instead using everyday comparisons and real-life examples that even students with zero science background can follow easily. He teaches from a strong personal belief that yoga and Ayurveda together give people a far more complete picture of health than either one offers alone, and every anatomy lesson he teaches connects back to something practical, such as how understanding the muscles and joints actually improves the way a student performs or teaches asana.
His anatomy sessions are consistently some of the most popular classes at the school, largely because students leave understanding concepts they had struggled with elsewhere. For anyone planning to teach yoga professionally, his classes often become the foundation they rely on most once they start teaching on their own.
He leads: Anatomy, Physiology, and Ayurveda classes in the 200 and 300 Hour TTC in Rishikesh.
