Specialisation- Naturopathy, Yogic Science, Traditional Dravidian Martial Arts
Experience- 15+ Years
Qualifications- 500-Hour YTT | B.Sc. Naturopathy and Yogic Science (in progress) | Kshatriyayoga lineage
Shakti Ji began learning yoga at just eleven years old, starting with thathuva dhyanam and traditional Yogam practices. Over the years, his training expanded far beyond typical yoga instruction. He studied multiple styles of Yogasana, traditional Dravidian martial arts, and Kshatriyayoga, a strict and lesser-known system of practice passed down through specific lineages in South India. He has completed a full 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training and is currently working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Naturopathy and Yogic Science, adding formal academic structure to a lifetime of hands-on, lineage-based training.
Shakti Ji teaches with noticeable depth and patience, and he rarely rushes through material just to stay on schedule. His background in martial arts brings a slightly different energy into his classes compared to a typical relaxed yoga session, with a stronger focus on strength, control, and discipline running through his teaching. He treats the act of sharing yogic knowledge as a genuine responsibility, not a performance, and this shows in how detailed and precise his instructions tend to be, even for what might seem like simple poses.
Students consistently say his classes help them understand the real reason behind each technique, not just the steps to follow. For anyone who wants to go beyond a surface-level yoga education and actually understand its traditional roots, Shakti’s sessions offer a level of depth that’s hard to find elsewhere.
He leads: Yogic Science and Advanced Practice classes in Bali TTC programmes.
