Going Beyond The Foundation

What Is The 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course?

The 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course is the advanced level of yoga teacher education, designed for those who hold a 200-hour certification and are ready to go deeper. It is aligned with Yoga Alliance USA standards and, when combined with your existing 200 hours, qualifies you to register as an RYT 500 (Registered Yoga Teacher 500).

Where the 200-hour YTTC taught you the foundations — how to practise and how to begin teaching — the 300-hour YTTC teaches you how to refine, specialise, and lead the class. You study advanced asana sequencing, yoga therapy, energy anatomy, Ayurveda, and more layers of philosophy than a standard 200-hour training reaches.

  • Advanced Asana and Sequencing

Master complex postures safely and learn how to sequence high-level yoga classes, especially for intermediate and advanced learners. You move from following sequences to designing them.

  • Extended Philosophy and Psychology

Explore the deeper layers of texts like the Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita, and master your energy anatomy — Chakras, Nadis, and Kundalini — at a level beyond 200-hour training.

  • Refining Your Professional Voice

Move away from a "scripted style" of teaching and develop your own authentic, intuitive presence as a leader. By the end, you teach from understanding, not from memory.

Course Structure

Understanding The Structure Of The 300 Hour YTTC In Bali

The 300 hour curriculum at Vinyasa Yoga Academy Bali is structured to deliver each of the 300 hours through a clear and transparent combination of live teaching, advanced guided practice, supervised teaching, and integrated self-study — all within your 25 days on campus.

Day by day, this routine helps you develop the depth, confidence, and authority that distinguish an advanced teacher from an advanced practitioner. Each subject is revisited regularly so that knowledge is built through immersion rather than long, isolated blocks — the traditional gurukul method that makes residential training in Bali noticeably different from the same number of hours spread across weekends at home.

Discipline In Our Yoga Community

Disciplines You Need To Follow In Our Yoga Community

At Vinyasa Yoga Academy, discipline is a practice we choose from within, and it begins the moment you arrive. Our Bali training community is rooted in the teachings of Karma Yoga: selfless service, self-inquiry, and conscious living. These principles shape how you share spaces, how you eat, sleep, and show up for your fellow students and teachers every single day. The Balinese spirit of 'Tri Hita Karana', i.e., harmony with people, nature, and the divine, quietly leads everything here, making Bali a uniquely powerful place to truly practice what you learn.

As a student in this programme, you are asked to maintain a sattvic way of living during your yoga training. This means keeping personal and shared spaces clean, refraining from meat, fish, eggs, alcohol, and tobacco, and embracing the early-morning schedule with commitment. These are not restrictions, but tools. They sharpen your focus, calm your nervous system, and create the internal conditions where core shift through learning becomes possible.

  • Every Thursday is observed as a Silence Day, following the traditional practice of "Moana Vratham"
  • Students are encouraged to sleep by 9:30 PM to support the physical demands and early rhythm of the daily schedule

We had an awesome 3 day retreat at Vinyasa. We learned so much, did yoga philosophy classes, anatomy and alignment too, and lots of yoga! The location is so great, Rishikesh is actually really busy and loud, but the yoga academy is in a really quiet street and it's peaceful with lovely views. The teachers and all the staff were so welcoming, food was really good, we did an excursion to the river, and the room was great too! Highly recommend.

By far the best place to start your Yoga journey in Rishikesh. The School was caring like a mother for all of us and was always there for answering questions, taking us to caves, temples, Kirtan, meditation or Yoga at the beach. I can not put in words how grateful I am for the last 4 weeks. The teachers are extremely professional and put all their heart into teaching you as much as possible. The group environment was super welcoming, empathetic and loving. I am leaving with a huge smile and tears in my eyes.

Teaching

Completing the 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Bali and registering as a Yoga Alliance RYT 500 changes your professional positioning significantly. Yoga studios, retreat centres, yoga trainers, and other practitioners treat RYT 500 teachers differently because the credential signals rigorous practice and holistic knowledge.

Most teachers begin to expand gradually after the 300 hours YTTC. Some step into yoga therapy. Some build personalised retreats or offer workshops. Some come back to train others at yoga school. The path is not linear and does not need to be decided before you begin. What the training gives you is the depth, understanding, and maturity to take your career in any direction that makes sense for your life and goals.

What your RYT 500 can support:

  • Mentoring New Teachers — As an RYT 500 instructor, you are eligible to serve as a mentor for 200 hour YTTC students and to be involved in teacher training programmes.
  • Retreat Facilitation and Leadership — The depth and credential that retreat centres and organisers look for in a lead facilitator.
  • Corporate Wellness and Therapy Settings — Advanced yoga therapy, stress management, and rehabilitation work in healthcare and wellness environments.
  • Online Teaching and Course Creation — This course gives you the authority and subject-matter depth to build authoritative content online.
  • Opening Your Yoga Studio — For those who want to build their own training programme, the RYT 500 is the credential that can make it possible.

Become A Successful Yoga Teacher

We Are Giving Back To Society

Yoga has always meant more to us than postures and breathing techniques. From the very beginning, Vinyasa Yoga Academy was built on the belief that real yoga lives in how you treat the world around you. Rishikesh gave us a home, a community, and a purpose, and giving back to this land is something we feel in our bones, not something we planned on a whiteboard.

Over the years, we have worked closely with orphanages in Rishikesh, bringing meals, shelter support, and yoga to children who needed steadiness in their lives. We have also run health awareness camps for families in the local area who rarely get access to basic medical guidance, simple sessions on hygiene, preventive care, and healthy habits that most of us take for granted. We take pride in conducting cleaning initiatives to make the environment cleaner, and we actively advocate waste management methods to improve the community's general health.

Questions You May Have

Frequently Asked Questions — 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Bali

Do I Need A 200-Hour Certificate Before Joining A 300 Hour YTT Bali?

Yes, it is required. You should have a valid 200 hour yoga teacher training certificate from any Yoga Alliance-registered school. It is the only technical prerequisite for this course. Without it, the depth of the advanced curriculum and intricate poses is difficult to absorb and apply.

Can I Join The 300 Hour Yoga TTC Directly After Completing My 200-Hour Yoga TTC?

Yes, you can continue directly after your 200 Hour YTTC without any gap. Many students choose to do this course immediately. The 300 Hour YTTC runs monthly, so timing is straightforward to plan.

What Is The Difference Between An RYT 500 And An RYT 200?

The RYT 200 is the entry-level professional certification for yoga teachers. The RYT 500 requires 500 total training hours — 200 hours plus a 300-hour course — and signifies rigorous, advanced learning. It qualifies you for higher-level teaching roles.

If I Have Done 300 Hours YTTC, Do I Need A Separate 500-Hour Course?

No. There is no separate 500-hour course. The RYT 500 is simply the combination of your 200-hour and 300-hour certifications added together. Once you have both from Yoga Alliance-registered schools, you apply directly through Yoga Alliance to register as an RYT 500. No additional training is required.

How Physically Demanding Is The 300-Hour Training Compared To The 200-Hour?

It is a little more demanding than other courses but manageable. The daily schedule starts early, covers more ground, and goes deeper into complex asanas, stricter pranayama, philosophy, anatomy, and teaching practice. Most students usually settle into the rhythm by the first week.

Will I Get Teaching Practice During The 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Bali?

Yes. You will be in front of the room from the very first week, not just observing but actually teaching, receiving direct feedback, and improving session by session. By the end of the 25-day period, you are not practising being a teacher. You already are one.

Is The 300-Hour YTTC By VYA Certificate Recognised Internationally?

Yes. Because Vinyasa Yoga Academy is a Yoga Alliance RYS 500-registered school. After completing the course, you will be handed a completion certificate that will be helpful in obtaining recognition as a Yoga Alliance-certified teacher.

Where Is The Campus Of Vinyasa Yoga Academy In Bali?

The campus is located in Ubud, Bali, a peaceful, culturally rich area known for its preserved heritage, cosy environment, and natural beauty. For more info, call us at +62-8132881810 or email us at contact@vinyasayogaacademy.com.

What Is The Refund Or Rescheduling Policy For The 300-Hour YTTC In Bali?

The booking deposit you make is non-refundable. If, for any reason, you cannot appear for the course on the date you chose and you need to reschedule, we can help transfer your enrolment to a future batch. Your enrolment transfer is valid for one year from the original booking date.

Do I Have To Do My 300-Hour At The Same School Where I Did My 200-Hour?

No, you're free to choose. Yoga Alliance allows you to mix and match schools if you want. In fact, many teachers choose Vinyasa Yoga Academy for their 300-hour YTTC specifically because they want a fresh perspective or want to experience our Himalayan-Bali fusion.

Will I Have To Pass An Assessment Before Receiving The Course Completion Certificate?

Yes, you will have to pass an assessment in order to receive your course completion certificate. The assessment will be basic in nature and will cover topics that were taught in the regular classes. It can either be practical or written.

Do I Need To Follow A Specific Lifestyle During The 300 Hrs YTTC In Bali?

Yes. The programme follows traditional yogic principles: a sattvic vegetarian diet is served on campus, and alcohol, non-vegetarian food, and tobacco are not permitted for 25 days. An early wake-up schedule and a committed daily routine are part of the course structure.

Can I Continue To A Specialisation Or Further Training After This?

Yes. With your RYT 500, you can pursue specialisations such as Yin Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Sound Healing, Yoga Therapy, and others. Many of these also add Continuing Education Units to your Yoga Alliance profile. You can also apply to be involved in YTTCs as a mentor.

What Makes Bali A Meaningful Place For 300-Hour Training Specifically?

Yoga study benefits from an environment that supports solitude and peace of mind. Bali's living culture creates a shield that reinforces what you are studying inside the classroom. Deeper practice develops differently when the culture around you is aligned to promote it.

Is Ubud Safe For Solo Travellers And International Students?

Yes. Ubud is one of the safest and most internationally welcoming places in Bali. It has a long history of hosting yoga students, artists, and spiritual seekers from every part of the world. The local community is warm and accustomed to international visitors. We also provide arrival guidance and support from the moment you land.

How Do I Register As An RYT 500 With Yoga Alliance After The Course?

Log in to your existing Teacher account at yogaalliance.org (or create one if you don't have one). Apply for RYT 500 registration from your dashboard, add both your 200-hour and 300-hour training details (selecting Vinyasa Yoga Academy as your 300-hour school), and submit the required documentation. Once verified, your RYT 500 profile goes live in the global Yoga Alliance directory.
