Understanding Yin Yoga

What Is Yin Yoga and the 50 Hour Yin Yoga TTC?

Yin Yoga is a slow, floor-based practice where poses are held for three to five minutes at a time. Instead of working the muscles like most yoga styles do, Yin works deeper into the connective tissue, fascia, and joints. That stillness is what makes it different and what makes it worth studying properly.

Yin Yoga is also rooted in the meridian system from Traditional Chinese Medicine. Meridians are the energy pathways running through the body. Specific Yin postures stimulate these pathways, which is why a well-taught Yin class can affect a student far beyond the physical level.

A 50-Hour Yin Yoga Training is a short-format, intensive course that covers the core principles of Yin Yoga, postures, pranayama, philosophy, the Body Meridian System, and teaching methodology in a condensed but structured learning format.

Discipline In Our Yoga Community

Disciplines You Need To Follow In Our Yoga Community

At Vinyasa Yoga Academy, discipline is a practice we choose from within, and it begins the moment you arrive. Our Bali training community is rooted in the teachings of Karma Yoga: selfless service, self-inquiry, and conscious living. These principles shape how you share spaces, how you eat, sleep, and show up for your fellow students and teachers every single day. The Balinese spirit of 'Tri Hita Karana', i.e., harmony with people, nature, and the divine, quietly leads everything here, making Bali a uniquely powerful place to truly practice what you learn.

As a student in this programme, you are asked to maintain a sattvic way of living during your yoga training. This means keeping personal and shared spaces clean, refraining from meat, fish, eggs, alcohol, and tobacco, and embracing the early-morning schedule with commitment. These are not restrictions, but tools. They sharpen your focus, calm your nervous system, and create the internal conditions where core shift through learning becomes possible.

  • Every Thursday is observed as a Silence Day, following the traditional practice of "Moana Vratham"
  • Students are encouraged to sleep by 9:30 PM to support the physical demands and early rhythm of the daily schedule

Why Vinyasa Yoga Academy

Why Choose Vinyasa Yoga Academy for Yin Yoga TTC in Bali?

Ubud is one of the few places in the world where the culture genuinely supports the practice of yoga as a living tradition. Five days of yoga training in this setting adds a quality of depth that no studio in a city can replicate.

Beyond the setting, the structure of this programme is what sets it apart from most short yoga courses. The curriculum is properly sequenced, not simply a rotation of classes. The teaching follows the same Himalayan-rooted lineage as our 100, 200, and 300-hour teacher training programmes. A short-term course lives or dies by the quality of its teaching. Here is what makes the difference at VYA.

Your VYA Certificate

Certification and Accreditations After 50 Hour Yin Yoga YTTC in Bali

Completing your Yin Yoga Teacher Training in Bali is a significant milestone that marks your transition from a casual practitioner to a disciplined student of the craft. Though there is no standalone Yoga Alliance RYT 50 credential, the certificate does count directly toward the 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training pathway, which in turn contributes to the Yoga Alliance RYT 200 qualification. If you complete the 50 hours and decide you want to continue, your certificate, hours, and foundational knowledge do carry forward.

The VYA 50-Hour Completion Certificate

This certificate serves as official recognition of your hours spent in study and a professional record of your dedication to the tradition and your foundational competence in multistyle yoga.

Your Career Path Forward

While the 50-hour course is not a standalone licence to teach (it requires the international RYT 200 standard), it opens several doors for both professional and personal growth:

  • If you decide to pursue the 200-hour Yoga TTC in Bali with us in the future, these 50 hours are already behind you, making your path to global teaching much more accessible.
  • With the alignment and safety skills gained here, you can confidently assist teachers in studios, lead informal community classes, or guide small groups with other practitioners.
  • For those who are already RYT 200 certified, this course serves as a "Continuing Education" module, allowing them to sharpen skills and log hours to maintain their status with the Yoga Alliance USA.
  • If you are a health coach, therapist, or fitness trainer, this certification allows you to officially integrate yogic techniques and basic asanas into your existing client sessions or your personal well-being.
  • The greatest career benefit of 50 hour Yoga TTC is the ability to be your own teacher. You will leave Bali with the knowledge to design and maintain your own sequences and routine.

Questions You May Have

Frequently Asked Questions (50 Hrs Yoga Teacher Training In Bali)

What is Yin Yoga?

Yin Yoga is a slow, floor-based style of yoga where poses are held for three to five minutes at a time. Rather than working the muscles, it targets the deeper connective tissue, the fascia, ligaments, and joints. It draws from Traditional Chinese Medicine, working with the body's meridian system to improve energy flow, reduce tension, and create stillness in both the body and the mind.

Do I Need Any Prior Yoga Experience to Join the 50 hrs Yoga TTC in Bali?

No, not at all. The programme is designed for complete beginners. Sessions are taught progressively from the foundation up, with individual guidance from teachers throughout. The only requirement is showing up consistently and genuinely engaging with the schedule.

How Does a 5-Day Course Add Up to 50 Hours?

Each day runs from 5:00 AM to early evening with 8 hours of live teaching and 2 hours of structured self-study — 10 hours per day across 5 days. The total is 50 hours in a span of 5 days with daily classes and self-practice.

What Should I Bring for the 50-Hour Yin YTTC in Bali?

Comfortable, loose yoga clothing; a light layer for early morning sessions; walking shoes or sandals; sunscreen; a personal water bottle; toiletries; and a notebook and pen. Yoga mats and props are provided on campus. White clothing is welcome for any ceremonies during the programme.

What Language Is the Yin Yoga TTC Taught In?

All sessions are conducted entirely in English. Our expert teachers have welcomed students from more than 100 countries over the years and are skilled at making complex yogic concepts accessible to all.

When Does the 50-Hour Yoga Training Run in Bali and How Often?

The 50 Hour Yin YTTC runs once a month throughout the year, from the 20th to the 26th of each month. This gives you a clear, fixed schedule to plan your travel around.

How Is Yin Yoga Different from Restorative Yoga?

Both are slow and floor-based, but they serve different purposes. Restorative Yoga is about complete relaxation with full prop support. Yin Yoga applies a gentle, sustained stress to the connective tissue to stimulate deeper flexibility and energy flow. One rests the body, the other works it quietly.

Can I Practise Yin Yoga Every Day?

Yes, for most people a daily Yin practice is safe and beneficial. Because it targets connective tissue rather than muscle, the body recovers differently than from stronger styles. A daily practice of thirty to sixty minutes is reasonable for most practitioners.

What Is the Refund and Cancellation Policy for the Yin Yoga TTC in Bali?

Your booking deposit secures your place and is transferable to any future date within 12 months from your original start date. If you need to cancel entirely, please contact us by email. Full programme fees paid in advance are non-refundable. For more information, call us at +62-8132881810.

What Certificate Will I Receive After I Complete This Course?

You will receive a VYA 50-Hour Yin Yoga Completion Certificate from Vinyasa Yoga Academy. It is issued by a Yoga Alliance RYS 500-registered, ISO 9001:2015-certified school and carries an established professional credibility.

How Do I Get to the VYA Campus from Denpasar Airport?

VYA offers paid airport pickup (only at $35 USD). Once you have booked your travel, please tell us your arrival details, and we can help arrange your travel to campus. Ride-sharing apps are another easy and accessible option.

What Are the Benefits of Doing Yin Yoga Teacher Training?

A Yin Yoga teacher training course helps you to guide your students to another level. Along with your hatha yoga teaching, you can also guide Yin, which is good for elderly and ill people.

Can I Teach Yin Yoga After Completing a 50-Hour Training?

A 50-hour certificate gives you a strong foundation in Yin Yoga theory, postures, and sequencing. However, if you intend to teach professionally in a studio, most employers will also require a 200-hour foundational certificate alongside it.

Can This 50-Hour Certificate Count Toward a Longer Yoga Alliance Training Later?

Yes, of course. The 50-hour certificate serves as a direct stepping stone toward the 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, which in turn counts toward the Yoga Alliance RYT 200 pathway. If you decide to continue your training after the 50-hour programme, your completion certificate and your practical foundation carry forward into the next level.

Can I Be a Certified Yin Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance?

Yes, after completing the 50-hour Yin Yoga course, you can apply for YACEP registration in Yoga Alliance.
