The Kids Yoga Teacher Training (50 hours) at Vinyasa Yoga Academy in Rishikesh is a 5-day programme offered by a Yoga Alliance USA Registered School. On completion you receive an official VYA Kids Yoga TTC Completion Certificate — and for existing Registered Yoga Teachers, the hours count as Yoga Alliance YACEP continuing education.

This training is for you if you want to teach yoga to children in schools, start kids' yoga classes, or simply help the next generation build healthy habits through movement and mindfulness. You will learn in Rishikesh, the birthplace of yoga, under teachers who specialise in children's yoga. Every subject is taught by a dedicated E-RYT 500 teacher, so you finish with real skills you can use from day one.

By the end, you will know how to teach yoga to children of different ages, safely, confidently, and in a way that actually works for kids. After completing the course and a final assessment, you will receive a certificate from Vinyasa Yoga Academy that qualifies you to register with Yoga Alliance USA.

Our Rishikesh training community is rooted in the teachings of Karma Yoga: selfless service, self-inquiry, and conscious living. These principles shape how you share spaces, how you eat, sleep, and show up for your fellow students and teachers every single day. The yogic spirit of Rishikesh — its ancient ashrams, the sacred Ganga, and the living presence of the Himalayas — quietly leads everything here, making it a uniquely powerful place to truly practice what you learn.

As a student in this programme, you are asked to maintain a sattvic way of living during your yoga training. This means keeping personal and shared spaces clean, refraining from meat, fish, eggs, alcohol, and tobacco, and embracing the early-morning schedule with commitment. These are not restrictions, but tools. They sharpen your focus, calm your nervous system, and create the internal conditions where real learning becomes possible.

  • Every Thursday is observed as a Silence Day, following the traditional practice of "Moana Vratham"
  • Students are encouraged to sleep by 10:00 PM to support the physical demands and early rhythm of the daily schedule

The daily schedule of Kids Yoga Teacher Training is simple, balanced and easy to follow. Your day starts at 5:00 AM with breathing exercises, followed by yoga practice and philosophy class. Through the day, you attend anatomy, kids' yoga sequencing, self-study, and evening meditation. Meals and a rest break are included in between.

This steady daily routine helps you stay focused, build positive habits, and truly experience yoga as a way of life.

No prior experience with kids' yoga is needed, just a genuine desire to make a difference in a child's life.

If you wish to teach Kids Yoga and earn certification through Yoga Alliance, you should already have completed a 200-Hour YTTC. If you would like to join purely for personal practice and self-study, you are most welcome to do so as well — we simply recommend having 1–2 years of prior yoga practice experience to get the most out of the training.

All classes are mandatory. Only in the case of an emergency or illness can one take leave with a respected teacher's permission. Uninformed leaves won't be accepted and will affect the student's monthly performance. Please read the policies below carefully before enrolling — they are written to protect both students and the school, and to keep the training environment safe, focused, and fair for everyone on campus.

  • To teach Kids Yoga and earn certification through Yoga Alliance, a completed 200 Hour YTTC is required.
  • To join for personal practice and self-study, a 200 Hour certification is not required — 1–2 years of prior yoga practice experience is recommended.
  • Be self-motivated and self-disciplined to fully enjoy the course.
  • Before you join, prepare your body and mind for this big journey.
  • It is mandatory to attend all of the classes and activities.
  • Do not harass or harm any other students.
  • Misconduct and misbehavior will not be allowed or tolerated.

Principles And Guidelines
  • We are a traditional and authentic Vinyasa Yoga school in Rishikesh.
  • Class starts in the early morning and goes until evening. There will be a short break during and after each meal.
  • Respect everyone inside and outside the campus.
  • There is no refund of the course after you join. Advance deposit is also non-refundable but it can be used during another month if you need to change the time of your course.
  • If you skip any meal please inform the reception at least 3 hours before.
  • Non-vegetarian food, smoking, and drinking alcohol are not allowed on the Vinyasa Yoga Academy premises.

  • Modest dressing is mandatory on the premises.
  • Silence should be maintained after 8 pm.
  • Regular homework should be completed.
  • All classes are mandatory to attend.
  • Bring one pair of white clothes for the welcome ceremony.
  • As a part of the evaluation procedure, there will be a final exam, both theoretical and practical.
  • Vinyasa Yoga Academy reserves the right to disqualify any students at any time during the TTC for misconduct or breaking the rules.
  • Pets are not allowed to be kept in rooms.
