Kids Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh India

Teaching yoga to children is one of the most meaningful things a yoga teacher can do. It starts here.

The Kids Yoga Teacher Training (95 hours) at Vinyasa Yoga Academy in Rishikesh is a 5-day programme registered with Yoga Alliance USA. When you complete it, you earn the title of Registered Children's Yoga Teacher (RCYT), a credential recognised worldwide.

This training is for you if you want to teach yoga to children in schools, start kids' yoga classes, or simply help the next generation build healthy habits through movement and mindfulness. You will learn in Rishikesh, the birthplace of yoga, under teachers who specialise in children's yoga. By the end, you will know how to teach yoga to children of different ages, safely, confidently, and in a way that actually works for kids. After completing the course and a final assessment, you will receive a certificate from Vinyasa Yoga Academy that qualifies you to register with Yoga Alliance USA.

Understanding Kids Yoga

What Is Kids Yoga and Why Does It Matter?

Kids' yoga is not a junior version of what adults do in a studio. It is something built from the ground up for the way children move, think, and learn at different ages.

A class might look like a group of six-year-olds roaring like lions, stretching their arms wide like an eagle, or lying still while a teacher guides them through a breathing exercise before school. At its core, it combines movement, breath, and simple mindfulness in a way that feels like play — because for children, that is exactly how learning works best.

The physical side matters. Children build flexibility, balance, and coordination without any strain or competition. But what parents and teachers often notice first is the emotional side. Children who practise yoga regularly tend to handle frustration better, settle more quickly, and carry a quieter confidence into their daily life.

A Kids' Yoga Teacher Training prepares you for exactly that. You learn which poses work at which ages, how to use storytelling with younger children, how to introduce breathwork to teenagers, and how to manage a real classroom full of real children. By the end, you are not just qualified — you are ready.

Discipline In Our Yoga Community

Disciplines You Need To Follow In Our Yoga Community

At Vinyasa Yoga Academy, discipline is a practice we choose from within, and it begins the moment you arrive. Our Rishikesh training community is rooted in the teachings of Karma Yoga: selfless service, self-inquiry, and conscious living. These principles shape how you share spaces, how you eat, sleep, and show up for your fellow students and teachers every single day. The yogic spirit of Rishikesh — its ancient ashrams, the sacred Ganga, and the living presence of the Himalayas — quietly leads everything here, making it a uniquely powerful place to truly practice what you learn.

As a student in this programme, you are asked to maintain a sattvic way of living during your yoga training. This means keeping personal and shared spaces clean, refraining from meat, fish, eggs, alcohol, and tobacco, and embracing the early-morning schedule with commitment. These are not restrictions, but tools. They sharpen your focus, calm your nervous system, and create the internal conditions where real learning becomes possible.

  • Every Thursday is observed as a Silence Day, following the traditional practice of "Moana Vratham"
  • Students are encouraged to sleep by 9:30 PM to support the physical demands and early rhythm of the daily schedule

Vinyasa yoga academy is such a wonderful and special place. I first booked a short 3-day retreat (which I highly recommend) in January. Then later in march I returned back to do my 200 yoga teacher training as I really loved the school and the atmosphere. The school is located in upper Tapovan which makes a calm and enjoyable environment to do your YTTC. The teachers and the staff are highly professional and makes it feel like home! Thank you so much for everything!

What Is the Difference Between a Regular Yoga Teacher Training and a Kids Yoga Teacher Training?

A regular yoga teacher training prepares you to teach adults. What Makes Vinyasa Yoga Academy Different from Other Schools in Rishikesh?

Batch sizes are kept small, so you get real attention and real feedback. The curriculum goes deep, covering nutrition, child psychology, and special needs alongside the yoga itself.

Do I Need to Follow a Specific Lifestyle During the Training?

Yes. The course follows a yogic daily routine throughout. Campus meals are Sattvic and vegetarian. Alcohol, smoking, and non-vegetarian food are not permitted during the training period. This is not about restriction — it is about giving your body and mind the right conditions to absorb everything the training offers.

What Is Daily Life Like During the Kids Yoga Teacher Training Course?

Your day follows a warm and focused yogic schedule with early morning practice, theory and practical classes, meals, rest breaks, self-study time, and evening sessions. The routine is designed to keep you engaged, energised, and fully prepared to become a skilled kids' yoga teacher.

What Certificate Will I Receive After Completing the Course?

Upon successfully completing the training, you receive a 95-Hour Kids Yoga Teacher Training Completion Certificate from Vinyasa Yoga Academy. This makes you fully eligible to apply for RCYT registration with Yoga Alliance USA, provided you also hold an active RYT 200 certification.

Can I Teach Kids Yoga Internationally After Completing This Course?

Yes. The RCYT credential is globally recognised and opens doors to teaching in schools, yoga studios, wellness centres, special needs programmes, holiday camps, and online platforms — wherever in the world you choose to take your teaching career.

What Makes Vinyasa Yoga Academy Different from Other Schools in Rishikesh?

The teachers here are ERYT-certified specialists who have spent over a decade working specifically with children, not generalist yoga teachers who cover kids as an add-on.

What Is Your Refund and Cancellation Policy?

The booking amount is non-refundable. However, if you inform us in advance, it can be transferred to a future course date within one year, subject to availability. For more information call us at +91-8755744872.
