Vinyasa Yoga Academy
Life is a constant exchange of energy. But when the output exceeds the intake, the body begins to signal for help.
Most of us arrive at a point where rest alone is not enough, and the body carries too much of a load from late nights, compromised meals, and unprocessed stress. Ayurveda has a name for this accumulated load: ama, or toxicity. And it has a science for clearing it.
The Ayurveda retreat in Bali at Vinyasa Yoga Academy is not built around wellness trends. It is built around a complete, time-tested science. Over 5 to 21 days, guided by practitioners trained in the authentic North Indian Ayurvedic tradition, you move through a full programme — personalised consultation, Panchakarma therapies, sattvic nutrition, daily yoga and meditation, and a quality of deliberate stillness that most people have never given themselves permission to experience. The result is not just rest. It is a genuine reset, from the inside out.

Healing takes different amounts of time for different people. That is why our Ayurveda retreat is offered across multiple durations, each one going progressively deeper. Whether you have five days or three weeks, there is a programme here that meets you where you are.
"Most Popular" (5-Day)

Five days is when the body starts to respond. In five days, you receive your initial dosha consultation, Ayurvedic treatment sessions, introductory Panchakarma therapies, daily yoga and breathwork, and your first experience of eating according to your constitution. By day four, most guests notice something shifting that is difficult to put into words but impossible to miss.
Ideal For: First-time Ayurveda guests · Busy professionals needing a structured short reset · Travellers in Bali wanting a meaningful wellness experience · Anyone dealing with chronic fatigue, disturbed sleep, or digestive imbalance
"Recommended" (7-Day)

A complete week of internal reform. The 7-day programme is the most comprehensive format that can realistically be completed in a single week. The full fivefold Panchakarma process — Vamana, Virechana, Vasti, Nasya, and Raktamokshana, as indicated by your internal constitution — is administered across a carefully sequenced protocol by expert Ayurvedic and Yogic professionals.
Ideal For: Those ready for a full Panchakarma experience · Guests with specific health concerns like stress, hormonal imbalance, weight, insomnia, or joint discomfort · Practitioners wanting to deepen their personal Ayurvedic knowledge

For those who are serious about lasting change. We offer customisable Ayurveda retreat packages tailored to your needs and schedule. Our practitioners observe your responses, adjust treatments, and refine your herbal and dietary protocols as the programme progresses. Duration can be customised within 7–21 days based on your initial consultation.
Ideal For: Those managing chronic conditions, hormonal issues, or long-term fatigue · Practitioners of Ayurveda or yoga wanting a full traditional immersion · Anyone ready to give their health the time and care it actually deserves

Who Joins Us
The Ayurvedic retreat in Bali at VYA is rooted in the classical North Indian tradition. Our practitioners are trained in the complete system of consultation, diagnosis by pulse and constitution, Panchakarma protocol design, herbal medicine, and dietary science.
Every programme begins with a proper face-to-face consultation. What comes out of that conversation shapes everything: your treatments, your meals, your daily rhythm, and your herbal support. Nothing is assumed. Nothing is generic.
We have welcomed guests from over 60 countries — high-performance executives, parents, and wellness professionals. Every person who arrives has a different constitution, history, and reason for being here.
If you are not sure whether this retreat is right for you, call or WhatsApp us before booking. We would rather you make the right choice than the quick one.
Inclusions & Requirements
Consultation, Treatment & Nutrition
Every person who arrives at the retreat has a different constitution, history, and reason for being here. Our Ayurvedic retreat in Bali takes care of all of that from the very first day. Every programme begins with a proper face-to-face consultation — what comes out of that conversation shapes everything that follows.
The programme starts with a one-on-one consultation with your Ayurvedic practitioner. Through pulse reading (Nadi Pariksha), a detailed examination of your physical and mental constitution, and a conversation about your health history, symptoms, and goals, your unique Prakriti and Vikriti — your natural constitution and your current state of imbalance — are identified.
This is the foundation of everything that follows. Your treatments, your meals, your herbal support, and the sequence of your retreat are all built from this assessment. Three-day follow-up consultations allow the programme to be refined as your body responds.

In Ayurveda, what you eat during a cleanse is as important as the treatments themselves. The digestive fire, Agni, is both the primary target of Panchakarma and its most powerful ally. Throughout your retreat, every meal is prepared according to your dosha.

Light meals during active cleanse, restorative ones during recovery — always free from ingredients that create additional burden on the system. Organic, locally sourced, and prepared with care.

Daily yoga and meditation support the movement of toxins that treatments have loosened and maintain the mental clarity that allows healing to happen at a deeper level. Sessions are adapted to your constitution and phase of treatment.
Why Vinyasa Yoga Academy
Bali has no shortage of places offering Ayurveda. It appears on spa menus, boutique hotel packages, and wellness itineraries of every kind. Most of them share one thing in common: they have taken the name, borrowed one or two treatments, and left the actual system behind.
You will know the difference the moment you walk into your first consultation at VYA. Not because we tell you we are different, but because what happens in that room is unlike anything a spa menu can offer. A practitioner who reads your pulse, maps your constitution, and builds your entire programme based on what they find — that is Ayurveda working the way it was always meant to.
VYA's Ayurveda retreat comes from the same 500-year-old Himalayan yogic lineage that underpins the school's yoga teaching. It is a living system passed down through practitioners who have spent their lives in it. You will feel the difference during your very first consultation.
Ayurveda and yoga are sister sciences designed to work together. At VYA, yoga sessions are not added to the retreat for variety — they are prescribed with the same intentionality as the treatments themselves.
There are no pre-built packages. Your programme is assembled from your consultation findings, adjusted daily based on your responses, and completed only when your practitioner is satisfied with your progress. You will not be following a template.
The retreat deliberately limits the number of guests in each batch. Ayurvedic healing cannot be administered at scale. The attention required for each guest to receive proper care means the group must remain small enough for that care to be given.
Guests who have done Ayurveda retreats in other locations consistently report that something about Bali accelerates the results. The Balinese concept of Tri Hita Karana — harmony between people, nature, and the divine — mirrors the core principles of Ayurveda so closely that it functions as part of the treatment.
Our Milestones
Celebrating Our Journey Through Remarkable Achievements.Your Daily Rhythm
Each day at this Ayurveda Retreat in Bali has a rhythm that your body begins to settle into within the first 24 hours of your first therapy or treatment. There is something reassuring about a slow, well-planned day focused solely on your well-being.
At VYA, we follow a fixed Dinacharya — the Ayurvedic daily routine that aligns your internal biological clock with the cycles of nature.

Timings and session sequences are adjusted based on your programme duration, your examination, and the availability of our professionals. Arrival day check-in is between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM, with a welcome ceremony and initial consultation at 3:30 PM. On Sundays, we organise spiritual excursions and offer you a chance to explore local Balinese cuisine for lunch and dinner.
Rooms & Food
Healing asks something simple of your environment: that it does not get in the way. No noise pulling you back into the world you came here to step away from. No discomfort breaking the rest your body is trying to find. At VYA Bali, the accommodation and dining are designed with that understanding at the centre — quiet, comfortable, and calm, so that everything happening in your treatments can actually take root.
We want you to feel at home, rested, and prepared to give your best every single day in every session.
In Bali, food is not just nourishment; it carries intention. Every meal at Vinyasa Yoga Academy is prepared with both.
We provide three meals per day, except lunch and dinner on Sundays, which you can have at nearby local restaurants and cafes at pocket-friendly prices.
We can recommend some of the best organic cafes within walking distance to help you explore authentic Balinese cuisine.
Weekend Experiences
We go beyond training: your yoga journey also includes real encounters with the land, culture, and sacred traditions of Bali. You can look forward to temple visits, beach yoga, local sightseeing, and shared moments with fellow students.
Ayurvedic Practitioners & Faculty
Our Ayurvedic practitioners are not seasonal instructors. They are trained in the complete classical system — consultation, pulse diagnosis, Panchakarma protocol design, herbal medicine, and dietary science. Every faculty member is an active Yoga Alliance member, rooted in authentic yogic and Ayurvedic tradition, and dedicated to passing on that knowledge with clarity and precision.

Common Questions
Absolutely. Most guests who come to us have never experienced Ayurveda before, and the retreat is designed with that in mind. Your practitioner will explain everything: what is being done, why it is being done, and what to expect at every stage. You do not need any prior knowledge. You just need to show up.
Think of Panchakarma as Ayurveda's deepest reset — a structured series of therapies that clears what has built up in your body over months or years. Whether it is part of your programme depends on your consultation findings and the duration of your stay. Your practitioner will recommend what is appropriate for you. Nothing is imposed.
Ayurveda works with your individual constitution rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, making it suitable for almost everyone. Age, background, and health history all factor into how your programme is designed. The only way to know what is right for you specifically is through a proper consultation, which is exactly where every programme here begins.
Weight loss can be a natural result of Panchakarma and dosha-specific nutrition, particularly if excess weight is connected to a Kapha imbalance or sluggish digestion. However, weight loss is never the primary goal here. The goal is balance. When the body finds balance, it naturally moves toward its healthiest state, and for many guests, that does include shedding weight they did not need.
Many guests come to the retreat specifically because of a health concern. Ayurveda is a medical system with genuine clinical depth, and the retreat is equipped to address these conditions. Please share your full health history in the pre-arrival questionnaire so your practitioner can plan appropriately.
Your initial consultation involves pulse reading (Nadi Pariksha), a physical examination of tongue, eyes, and skin, and a detailed conversation about your health history, current symptoms, sleep patterns, digestion, emotional tendencies, and lifestyle. From this, your Prakriti (natural constitution) and Vikriti (current state of imbalance) are identified.
It is different from how most people eat, but it is not restrictive in the sense of going hungry. All meals are vegetarian, organic where possible, and prepared fresh each day according to your dosha and treatment phase. Special dietary requirements, including vegan and gluten-free options, can be accommodated with advance notice.
Airport transfers can be arranged on request at USD 35. Alternatively, ride-sharing apps (Gojek and Grab) operate day and night from Ngurah Rai International Airport and remain an affordable and easy option. Please let us know your arrival time when booking so we can be ready for you.
