Understanding The Basics

What Is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini Yoga is one of the oldest yoga traditions, built around the awakening of dormant energy that sits at the base of the spine. Through a combination of asanas, pranayama, mantra, mudra, and meditation, the practice works systematically to open the chakras and move that energy upward through the body. It is not a gentle or surface-level practice — it asks something real of you every time you sit down to do it.

A Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training takes this inner journey and gives it purpose and direction. You learn not just how to practise but also how to guide others through these transformative teachings — such as asanas, breathwork, chakra awareness, mantra, and meditation — with clarity, depth, and responsibility. What makes this training truly unique is that it transforms you as a person first and a teacher second. The changes you go through during this training become the very core of how you will teach others. By the time you finish, what you take with you is not just a certificate; it is real knowledge, genuine experience, and something truly valuable to share with your students.

  • Awakens Dormant Kundalini Energy

Through asanas, pranayama, mantra, mudra and meditation, the practice systematically opens the chakras and moves the energy coiled at the base of the spine upward through the body.

  • Transforms You Before It Makes You A Teacher

This training transforms you as a person first and a teacher second — so the changes you go through become the very core of how you will teach others.

  • Qualifies You As An RYT-500 Kundalini Teacher

On completion you are eligible to register as an RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance USA — the highest internationally recognised advanced yoga teaching credential.

Course Structure

Understanding The Structure Of The 500 Hour Kundalini YTTC In Rishikesh

The 500 hour Kundalini curriculum combines the complete 200-Hour Kundalini YTTC and 300-Hour Kundalini YTTC into a single structured programme — each subject taught by a specialist Kundalini teacher, so the depth you receive in every area is genuine, comprehensive and built for serious practitioners.

Each subject is revisited throughout the course, so rather than studying one topic for a week and moving on, you return to every subject consistently. This repetition — the traditional gurukul method — is what makes 60 days of genuine immersion noticeably different from the same number of hours spread across weekends at home.

Discipline In Our Yoga Community

Discipline and a Yogic Lifestyle in Our Community

Joining us here isn't just about showing up for a class — it's about becoming part of something a little deeper. At Vinyasa Yoga Academy, we live and learn together as a small community, and that shared experience is honestly one of the most meaningful parts of the journey.

We follow the spirit of Karma Yoga in our day-to-day life, which means showing up with care for yourself, for others and for the space around you. Something as simple as keeping your room tidy, arriving on time, or being mindful of the people around you might seem small, but these small acts quietly build the kind of focus and inner steadiness that no single class ever could.

When it comes to lifestyle, we keep things simple and clean. All meals here are vegetarian, and we ask everyone to avoid alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and non-vegetarian food during their stay. This isn't about rules for the sake of rules — it's about creating an environment where your mind stays clear, your body feels balanced and you can actually be fully present in what you came here to do.

Become A Successful Yoga Teacher

We Are Giving Back To Society

Yoga has always meant more to us than postures and breathing techniques. From the very beginning, Vinyasa Yoga Academy was built on the belief that real yoga lives in how you treat the world around you. Rishikesh gave us a home, a community, and a purpose, and giving back to this land is something we feel in our bones, not something we planned on a whiteboard.

Over the years, we have worked closely with orphanages in Rishikesh, bringing meals, shelter support, and yoga to children who needed steadiness in their lives. We have also run health awareness camps for families in the local area who rarely get access to basic medical guidance, simple sessions on hygiene, preventive care, and healthy habits that most of us take for granted. We take pride in conducting cleaning initiatives to make the environment cleaner, and we actively advocate waste management methods to improve the community's general health.

Questions You May Have

FAQ — 500 Hour Kundalini YTTC in Rishikesh

Who Can Join This Course?

Anyone aged 18 and above. A prior 200-hour certification is not required, though many students arrive with one. What the course does ask for is a genuine commitment to 60 days of early mornings, full days, and the kind of inner work that Kundalini Yoga actually involves.

Are Food And Accommodation Included In The 500 Hour Kundalini YTTC Fee?

Yes, both are fully included. You get a comfortable place to stay and three sattvic vegetarian meals every day throughout your training. For any specific queries, call us at +91-8755744872.

How Do I Book My Seat For The 500 Hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training In Rishikesh?

You pay a booking amount to confirm your place and the remaining balance can be paid on arrival. To get started, call us at +91-8755744872.

Can I Arrive Early Or Stay On After The Course Ends?

Yes. Many students come a few days before the start date to settle in or stay on after finishing to spend more time in Rishikesh. Extra nights are available at an additional cost — mention it when you book and the team will sort the arrangement.

Is Rishikesh Safe For International Students?

Yes. Rishikesh has been welcoming yoga students from around the world for decades. It is a small, relatively calm town on the Ganga, and the local culture is genuinely respectful toward people who come here to study and practise.

What If I Need Help During The 500 Hrs Yoga Training Course?

Our team stays on campus throughout your training. Whether it is about your classes, your room, or anything else, someone from the team is always available to help you sort it out.

What Is The Cancellation Policy?

The booking amount is non-refundable — you can move the date to a future batch within one year. Call +91-8755744872 for details.

Will I Learn Traditional Kundalini Yoga Or The Western Style?

You will learn the traditional Himalayan approach — real Kriya practice, pranayama, mantra, chakra science, and meditation. This is not a fitness-based or simplified version. The focus is on giving you genuine knowledge and practical teaching skills that are rooted in authentic tradition.

How Long Is The Daily Schedule For The 500 Hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training?

Your day starts at 5:00 AM and wraps up around 9:00 PM. In between, you have asana, Kundalini Kriya, pranayama, meditation, philosophy, anatomy, teaching methodology, and personal journaling time. It is an intensive schedule but structured progressively so that it builds you up day by day across the full 59 days.

Are The Teachers Qualified Specifically In Kundalini Yoga?

Yes. Every teacher carries an E-RYT 500 certification and has at least 10 years of experience in their specific subject. Kundalini Kriya, pranayama, philosophy, anatomy, and meditation are each taught by a different specialist — nobody here is teaching subjects outside their expertise.

Is Airport Pickup Included?

Yes. We provide a free pickup from Dehradun Airport for all students. Just share your flight details with our admin team and your transfer to the campus will be arranged. Call +91-8755744872 for more information.

Can I Join Extra Healing Sessions During The Training?

Yes. During your stay you can attend Sound Healing, Reiki, Ayurveda Therapy, Inner Child Healing, Vedic Astrology, and more. Some are complimentary and some are available at a special rate. They are optional but most students find them deeply valuable.

What Study Materials Will I Receive?

You get a printed TTC manual, e-books, digital study materials, a Neti pot, rubber Neti, eye-cupping tools, and lifetime access to the online pre-recorded 500-Hour Kundalini Yoga course. A free 100-Hour Yoga Nidra TTC online is also included.

What Happens If I Miss Sessions Due To Illness During The Training?

Rest comes first. If you are unwell, you rest. Your teacher will work with you directly on what was missed and how to catch up in a way that does not affect your overall progress or your certificate.

Are Excursions Part Of The Training?

Yes. Cave meditation, Himalayan sunrise tours, visits to Kriya Yoga Ashram and Sivananda Ashram, Ganga Aarti, and weekly Ganga bank sadhana are all built into the programme. These are not extras — they are a genuine part of your overall training experience.

Are There Any Discounts Available?

Yes, you can check our website for the latest offers and discounts and take advantage of them before they expire. You can also call or email our team at +91-8755744872 or contact@vinyasayogaacademy.com. We are always happy to help you.
