Vinyasa Yoga Academy
Rishikesh is where Ayurveda has been practised, passed down, and refined for centuries.
Most people who arrive are not here for a holiday. They are carrying something: persistent fatigue, a digestion that has been struggling for years, hormonal imbalance, chronic stress, or simply a body that has stopped recovering the way it once did. In Ayurveda, this is called ama — accumulated toxins the body has been unable to clear. Until the root cause is treated, the symptoms keep returning.
Our Affordable Ayurveda Retreat at Vinyasa Yoga Academy, near Laxman Jhula, is built on a living North Indian Himalayan lineage, not assembled from books or wellness trends, but transmitted through direct teacher-to-student practice across generations.
Every consultation, every treatment, and every meal is designed around what your body specifically needs. From personalised Panchakarma therapies and classical treatments to sattvic nutrition and daily yoga and meditation, this is where the real work begins.

Every guest arrives with a different history and a different set of needs. Some conditions clear in a week. Some have been building for years. That is why we offer structured durations of 7 days, and 14–21 days, alongside fully customised programmes designed around your timeline and treatment goals.

"Most Popular" (7-Day Ayurveda Deep Detox)

A 7-day Ayurveda retreat is where the real work happens. Long enough to move through the full preparatory, treatment, and early recovery phases, yet short enough to fit into most people’s lives. Your programme is built entirely on your initial consultation — every treatment, meal, and herbal prescription chosen based on what your body specifically needs, administered in careful sequence. Paired with daily yoga adapted to your constitution, dosha-specific meals, and meditation, this one week consistently produces results guests describe as more meaningful than months of lifestyle changes attempted on their own.
Ideal For: Anyone ready to experience a full Ayurvedic detox for the first time · Those with hormonal imbalance, chronic stress, weight concerns, insomnia, joint discomfort, or persistent digestive issues · Yoga and Ayurveda practitioners looking to deepen their personal experience.
"For the Serious Seeker" (14–21 Day Customised Immersion)

Some imbalances have been building for years and require a longer, more deliberate process to address. The 14-day programme gives your practitioner time to observe your responses, adjust your herbal and dietary protocol, and work through multiple rounds of primary treatments as your body shows it is ready.
Ideal For: Chronic conditions · Hormonal, metabolic, or autoimmune patterns · Long-term fatigue · Serious Ayurveda practitioners seeking a full traditional immersion.

The deepest experience we offer. Three weeks give your practitioner the full space to take you through every phase of Panchakarma properly, refine your programme multiple times, and build the foundation for lasting change. For those who have decided to prioritise their health, this is the programme.
Ideal For: Anyone who has decided to truly prioritise their health · Complex or long-standing conditions · Practitioners seeking complete traditional immersion in the land where Ayurveda originated.
Customised Programme
If the standard durations do not fit your schedule or needs, we will design a programme around your dates and assessment. Whether it is a 10-day mid-length stay or something else entirely, reach out and we will tailor it. Contact us at +91-8755744872 for details and pricing.

A Balanced Rhythm
The daily schedule of the Ayurvedic Retreat at VYA is designed to balance immersive practice with enough space for rest and personal reflection. Each day moves through treatment sessions, yoga, nutrition, and stillness in a sequence that keeps your body and mind engaged without overwhelming either.
This is a sample flow of your day — a predictable, calming structure that allows you to stop managing your time and start simply healing.
Note: Timings and session sequences are adjusted based on your programme duration, examination findings, and practitioner availability.

Arrival day check-in is between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM, with a welcome ceremony and initial consultation at 3:30 PM. On excursion days, we organise visits to Rishikesh’s sacred sites — the ghats, the temples, and the caves of the ancient sages — which function not as tourism but as an extension of the healing environment.
Consultation, Treatment and Nutrition
From your very first consultation to your final session, every element of your programme is personalised, purposeful, and grounded in authentic Ayurvedic practice.
Why Vinyasa Yoga Academy
Rishikesh has dozens of places advertising Ayurveda retreats. Very few can trace their practice to a living lineage. VYA can. Here is what makes the difference.
At VYA, Ayurveda comes from a living Himalayan lineage passed down from teacher to student for over 500 years. From your very first consultation, you will notice the difference — it feels personal, authentic, and deeply rooted in tradition, not assembled from books or wellness trends.
Yoga and Ayurveda are sister sciences designed to work together. At VYA, your daily yoga sessions are prescribed by your practitioner with the same intention as your treatments — not added for variety. No other retreat in Rishikesh delivers both sciences from the same living tradition under one roof.
Your practitioner meets with you every three days to observe how your body is responding, adjust your treatments, and refine your herbal and dietary protocol as you move through the retreat. This level of ongoing personalised attention is rare and is what separates a real Ayurveda programme from a wellness package.
VYA has welcomed guests from more than 60 countries to its Ayurveda retreat and trained yoga students from more than 100 countries. That level of international trust does not come from marketing — it comes from consistent results over years.
VYA’s campus sits near Laxman Jhula, one of the most sacred stretches of the Ganga in Rishikesh. The river, the mountain air, and the quality of silence here are not incidental — Ayurveda considers the healing environment an active participant in recovery. This location has held that role for centuries.

Common Questions
Yes. Rishikesh is one of the most authentic places in the world to experience Ayurveda. The city sits within the North Indian Himalayan tradition from which Ayurveda was originally passed down, and the environment — the Ganga, the mountain air, the sattvic culture — actively supports the healing process in a way no urban wellness centre can replicate.
Not at all. The retreat is designed to welcome guests at every point on the spectrum, from those who have never encountered Ayurveda to those who have practised it for years. What matters more than prior knowledge is a genuine openness to the process.
Your initial consultation begins with Nadi Pariksha (pulse reading), followed by a physical assessment of the tongue, eyes, and skin and a detailed conversation covering your health history, digestion, sleep, energy levels, emotional tendencies, and current symptoms. From this, your Prakriti and Vikriti are identified, and your entire programme is designed accordingly.
Many guests come specifically because of a health concern. Ayurveda is a medical system with genuine clinical depth, and the retreat is equipped to work with a wide range of conditions. Share your full health history in the pre-arrival questionnaire and in your initial consultation. The more your practitioner understands about your history, the more precisely your programme can be designed.
Panchakarma is Ayurveda’s primary purification system. Whether and to what degree you receive it depends on your consultation findings and the length of the programme. The 7-day and longer programmes include a full or near-full Panchakarma sequence, as appropriate to your constitution.
Yes, both are fully included. Your package covers a private room with an en-suite bathroom and three freshly prepared dosha-specific meals daily. Everything you need for the duration of your stay is taken care of from the moment you arrive.
Alcohol, caffeine, processed foods, and recreational substances are not permitted during the retreat and are best avoided in the days leading up to your arrival. This prepares your body for treatment and allows the detoxification process to work more effectively from day one.
The retreat runs year-round. Traditionally, Panchakarma is most auspicious during seasonal transitions — March and April and September and October are particularly well-regarded. However, the optimal timing for you specifically depends on your constitution and goals, and your practitioner can advise accordingly.
Yes. If the standard durations don’t fit your schedule or needs, please contact us before booking. We will design a programme around your dates and assessment. Get in touch at +91-8755744872.
The 20% deposit paid at the time of booking is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation. However, it is fully transferable — if your plans change, you can reschedule to any available retreat date within 12 months at no extra charge. For more queries, reach us on WhatsApp at +91-8755744872.
The majority of guests arrive alone. It is one of the things people most commonly mention in their reviews — that they were nervous to come solo and ended up feeling it was exactly the right way to do it. The retreat naturally creates a close-knit community among its guests. You will not feel isolated.
Immerse yourself in authentic yoga, meditation, and yogic living. Learn from expert teachers, reconnect with your inner self, and gain a globally recognized certification in the yoga capital of the world.
Clarity Before You Book
All classes are mandatory. Only in the case of an emergency or illness can one take leave with a respected teacher's permission. Uninformed leaves won't be accepted and will affect the student's monthly performance. Please read the policies below carefully before enrolling — they are written to protect both students and the school, and to keep the training environment safe, focused, and fair for everyone on campus.
