Pura Tirta Empul
During your retreat, you will visit the sacred water temple built in 926 AD, where Balinese come to purify body and spirit.
Vinyasa Yoga Academy
Life moves fast. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is stop, breathe, and come back to yourself.
Vinyasa Yoga Academy'sYoga Retreat in Bali is a real pause — not a holiday, not a fitness programme. It is a dedicated space in the spiritual heart of Ubud, Bali, where you slow down, move your body, clear your mind, and leave feeling like yourself again.
Our yoga retreats run every month, starting on the 1st, and last between 3 and 21 days. Whether you have never tried yoga before or you have been practising for years, there is a place for you here. Every programme includes daily yoga classes, breathwork, meditation, fresh vegetarian meals, comfortable accommodation, and guided visits to Bali's most sacred sites — all for one transparent price.
We are a Yoga Alliance Accredited School, rooted in traditional Himalayan wisdom from Rishikesh. When you join a retreat with us, you are not booking a room in a beautiful location. You are stepping into a practice that has been taught for decades, led by teachers who have spent years in the discipline they share with you.

Explore Retreats
Everyone's schedule is different. Some people have a long weekend between work trips. Some have three weeks and nowhere they need to be. Some are passing through Bali and want to use the time well. Some have been planning their trip for months and finally made it happen.
That is why we offer customised yoga retreat durations: 3, 5, 7, 14, and 21 days. Each one is a complete programme, not a shortened version of something longer. 3 days gives you a genuine reset. 5 days is our most popular, long enough for your nervous system to actually settle. 7 days brings real physical and mental shifts. 14 days builds a practice that stays with you. And 21 days is a full immersion that changes the way you live when you go home.
All our seasonal yoga retreats begin on the 1st of every month, creating a shared starting point for our community of seekers. Here are some of our favourite ones for you:
Explore Our Retreat Options:
“Most Popular” (5-Day)

Our most popular choice. Perfect for those on a tight schedule or travellers already in Bali. This is a short, sharp burst of pranayama, asana, and meditation to help you find your feet and clear your mind.
“Recommended” (7-Day, 14-Day)

One full week allows your nervous system to truly settle. You will have enough time to experience the physical shifts of daily yoga and the emotional clarity of Balinese spiritual excursions.

For the seeker who wants more than just a break. This two-week immersion allows you to establish a permanent routine, dive deeper into yogic philosophy, and experience a total physical and mental detox.
Customised Experience
Do you have a specific timeframe in mind? We offer customised retreat durations to fit your personal travel plans. Whether it's a 4-day long weekend or a 10-day mid-length stay, we can tailor the schedule to meet your needs.
Who Joins Us
We have welcomed guests from over 60 countries to our VYA Bali retreat. Teachers, doctors, students, designers, parents, executives, and complete beginners — people at every stage of life and every level of yoga experience.
No two guests arrive for exactly the same reason. But most leave saying the same thing: they feel clearer, calmer, more rested, and more connected to themselves than they have in years.
A Day in Your Retreat
Our Bali Indonesia yoga retreat is structured to touch every layer of your being, physical, energetic, and mental, ensuring that the peace you find in Bali stays with you long after you fly home.
At Vinyasa Yoga Academy, we believe that yoga is a multi-dimensional journey. A truly holistic Yoga Retreat experience in Bali means we not only focus on the physical postures (Asana), but also address the quiet needs of your mind, the health of your internal systems, and your connection to the world around you.
Each morning begins before sunrise with pranayama, i.e., structured breathwork that wakes the nervous system gradually, without caffeine or urgency. This is followed by a traditional yoga asana session with one of our experienced teachers: precise, progressive, and adapted to where each practitioner actually is.
Evening sessions move into Ashtanga flow, meditation, and reflection. By day three, most guests stop checking their phones.

The location of Bali is not a backdrop; it is an active part of the yoga retreat. These are experiences that give the philosophical ideas explored in the shala a physical, living context.

During your retreat, you will visit the sacred water temple built in 926 AD, where Balinese come to purify body and spirit.

Walk through terraces whose structure and irrigation have been maintained by community cooperation for centuries.
Why Vinyasa Yoga Academy
There are hundreds of yoga retreats in Bali. Beautiful villas, infinity pools, and Instagram-worthy shalas are everywhere. What most of them cannot offer is what we have spent decades building: a genuine teaching lineage, Yoga Alliance accreditation, teachers with real depth, and a programme designed with the same precision as a professional yoga teacher training.
We are not a resort that added yoga classes. We are a yoga school with over 15 years of experience, rooted in the traditional teachings of Rishikesh, now brought to the spiritual landscape of Ubud, Bali.
Every teacher at VYA holds an E-RYT 500 certification and brings decades of practice to the mat, not a seasonal contract. When someone with that depth teaches you, you feel it from the very first session.
Yoga is a complete system for living. Our retreats include philosophy, pranayama, and meditation alongside asana, because posture work alone is only a fraction of what yoga actually is.
One price covers everything — accommodation, all meals, daily yoga, and excursions. What is not included, we tell you upfront. No surprises at checkout.
Every guest arrives not knowing anyone. Every guest leaves with a group of people who understand exactly what they went through. The community formed during the retreat is often cited as one of the most valuable parts of the experience.
A good holiday leaves you rested. A good retreat leaves you different. The breathing techniques, the morning routine, and the stillness you find here do not stay behind when you leave. Most guests tell us the biggest shift showed up weeks later — in how they sleep, how they handle pressure, and how they move through their days.
Our Milestones
Celebrating Our Journey Through Remarkable Achievements.Inclusions and Requirements
A Balanced Rhythm
Every day at the yoga retreat has a rhythm. At Vinyasa Yoga Academy, our daily schedule is intentionally crafted to honour the natural cycles of your energy. We balance the Solar energy of active movement in the morning with the Lunar energy of introspection and rest in the evening.
This is a sample flow of your day in Bali — a predictable, calming structure that allows you to stop making decisions and start simply being.

Schedules are adjusted based on retreat duration and season. Arrival day check-in is between 11 am and 2 pm, with a welcome ceremony at 3:30 pm. We will send you a full programme itinerary after your booking is confirmed.
Rooms and Food
We want you to feel at home, rested, and prepared to give your best every single day in every session.
In Bali, food is not just nourishment; it carries intention. Every meal at Vinyasa Yoga Academy is prepared with both.
We provide three meals per day, except lunch and dinner on Sundays, which you can have at nearby local restaurants and cafes at pocket-friendly prices.
We can recommend some of the best organic cafes within walking distance to help you explore authentic Balinese cuisine.
Beyond the Shala
Bali is not a backdrop — it is an active part of the practice. During your retreat, you will visit sacred temples, walk the ancient rice terraces, meditate by the rivers, and experience the living spiritual culture of Ubud. These outings give the philosophical ideas explored in the shala a physical, lived context.
Yoga Gurus and Faculty
Our yoga teachers for the yoga retreat Bali are not instructors hired for one season. They are practitioners who have spent years — often decades — in the discipline they are sharing with you.
Every faculty member is an active Yoga Alliance member, rooted in authentic yogic tradition, and dedicated to passing on that knowledge with clarity and precision. In Bali, surrounded by a culture that honours the sacred in daily life, their teaching takes on an added dimension that is simply not delivered anywhere else.

Common Questions
No. You do not need any experience at all. Our yoga retreat Bali welcomes complete beginners and experienced practitioners equally. On your first day our teachers will observe how you move and breathe and teach to your actual level from there. Many of our most memorable guests had never stepped on a yoga mat before they arrived.
Bali is a year-round destination with a welcoming environment. The dry season (April to October) is ideal for outdoor practice, as it brings reliable sunshine and lower humidity. The wet season (November to March) brings occasional afternoon rain but is quieter and cheaper, and the warmth is actually excellent for yoga. We run yoga Bali retreats throughout the year, starting on the first of each month.
If you are new to retreats, the 5-day programme is our most popular starting point. It is long enough for your body and mind to genuinely settle into the practice — most guests stop checking their phones by day three — but short enough to fit around most work schedules. If you have more time, the 7-day programme is where the deeper shifts tend to happen.
Your deposit is safe. It is fully transferable to any future retreat within 12 months of your original date. Full fees paid in advance are non-refundable, but we will always try to find an alternative date rather than leave you without options. Just email us and we will sort it out. For more queries, call us at +62-8132881810.
Yes — the majority of our guests arrive alone. It is one of the most common things people mention in their reviews: they were nervous about coming alone but ended up glad they did. The Bali Retreat Yoga naturally creates a community of like-minded people. You will not feel isolated.
During the yoga retreat in Bali, all meals are vegetarian and prepared from organic, locally sourced ingredients where possible. If you have specific allergies or dietary requirements — vegan, gluten-free, or otherwise — let us know when you book. We accommodate these wherever we can.
Yes. If none of our standard durations — 3, 5, 7, 14, or 21 days — fit your travel window, we can build a custom programme around your dates. A 4-day long weekend, a 10-day stay, or anything in between. Get in touch before you book and we will design something that works around you.
The Ngurah Rai International Airport is not far from the VYA campus. Airport transfers can be arranged on request on a paid basis. Alternatively, ride-sharing apps (Gojek and Grab) operate day and night from the airport and remain an affordable and easy option.
Comfortable yoga clothes, a light jacket for early mornings, flip-flops, and one pair of walking shoes; sunscreen, insect repellent, a refillable water bottle, a journal, and a sarong for temple visits. These items, along with your personal hygiene items, are recommended to be carried for the Yoga Retreat in Bali at VYA.
Yes, Bali has a well-established reputation as one of the safer destinations in Southeast Asia for solo women. The Bali yoga retreat environment itself is fully supervised and community-based. Many of our guests are solo women travellers, and the feedback on safety and comfort is consistently positive.
Clarity Before You Book
All classes are mandatory. Only in the case of an emergency or illness can one take leave with a respected teacher's permission. Uninformed leaves won't be accepted and will affect the student's monthly performance. Please read the policies below carefully before enrolling — they are written to protect both students and the school, and to keep the training environment safe, focused, and fair for everyone on campus.
