Understanding The Basics
The 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training course is kind of a short-term, foundational programme in yoga and yogic practices. It is designed for beginners and for enthusiasts who want to develop a strong base in yoga practice and theory. It covers certain essential aspects, such as basic asanas, breathing techniques (pranayama), meditation, alignment, and an introduction to yoga philosophy.
If you are brand new to the world of yoga, the course will provide you with a warm, structured, and supportive start in which curiosity to learn is the only prerequisite. Ideal for those who want to experience yoga authentically.
This course offers a simple, step-by-step learning approach without overwhelming the learner. It is an ideal starting point for anyone approaching teacher training for the first time. No prior yoga experience is required.
The course works as a pathway to the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training course. Perfect for those who wish to teach yoga professionally, gradually building confidence and a deep understanding.
Course Structure
The 100 hour curriculum at Vinyasa Yoga Academy Bali is structured to deliver each of the 100 hours through a clear and transparent combination of live teaching, guided practice, and integrated self-study — all within your 10 days on campus.
Day by day, this simple yet powerful routine helps you develop discipline, confidence, and a genuine love for yoga. Each subject is revisited regularly so that knowledge is built through immersion rather than long, isolated blocks — the traditional gurukul method that makes residential training in Bali noticeably different from the same number of hours spread across weekends at home.
Our Milestones
Celebrating Our Journey Through Remarkable Achievements.Inclusions and Requirements
The 100 Hour YTTC in Bali at Vinyasa Yoga Academy is a fully structured yoga teacher training programme. Depending on the package you choose, your accommodation, daily sattvic meals, yoga equipment, study materials, and completion certificate are included so you can solely focus on completing your training.
Discipline In Our Yoga Community
At Vinyasa Yoga Academy, discipline is a practice we choose from within, and it begins the moment you arrive. Our Bali training community is rooted in the teachings of Karma Yoga: selfless service, self-inquiry, and conscious living. These principles shape how you share spaces, how you eat, sleep, and show up for your fellow students and teachers every single day. The Balinese spirit of 'Tri Hita Karana', i.e., harmony with people, nature, and the divine, quietly leads everything here, making Bali a uniquely powerful place to truly practice what you learn.
As a student in this programme, you are asked to maintain a sattvic way of living during your yoga training. This means keeping personal and shared spaces clean, refraining from meat, fish, eggs, alcohol, and tobacco, and embracing the early-morning schedule with commitment. These are not restrictions, but tools. They sharpen your focus, calm your nervous system, and create the internal conditions where core shift through learning becomes possible.

Yoga Alliance Certified Syllabus
100 Hour Yoga TTC at Vinyasa Yoga Academy, Bali, offers a holistic approach to cover all fundamentals and foundations of yoga, both through teaching and self-learning. Learners are encouraged to always practise what’s taught in class and given enough time during the day for the same.
Multiple yoga styles and asanas are included in this beginner-level course, ranging from Hatha yoga, Ashtanga, and Pranayama to theory sessions, such as yoga philosophy, anatomy, and alignment. Below is the 100 Hour YTTC curriculum at Vinyasa Yoga Academy in brief:
Hatha yoga is a traditional form of yoga which focuses on physical postures or asanas, breathing techniques, and meditation. It is known for its ability to improve flexibility, balance, and strength. The main objective of Hatha yoga is to bring harmony between the body and mind, and to prepare the body for deeper spiritual practices (dhyana). In this subject, students will learn the philosophy behind Hatha yoga, its benefits for physical and mental health, how to properly breathe during asanas, and they will have the opportunity to practice Hatha Yoga Asanas with a solid grounding in the theory behind it.
Theory:
Practice:
Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga are dynamic styles of yoga that focus on flowing movements and synchronized breath. Whilst being quite physically demanding practices, these are known to build strength, flexibility, and endurance over time. In Ashtanga yoga, students follow a specific sequence of postures that is repeated in the same order in every class, while in Vinyasa yoga, the teacher has more flexibility to create a unique sequence for each class. In this subject, students will learn the foundational postures of Ashtanga or Vinyasa yoga, the importance of breath synchronization, and how to safely and effectively transition from one pose to another. They will also explore different modifications and variations of postures to accommodate different levels of experience and ability.

Finishing Postures:
Pranayama practices aim to balance and harmonize the Prana — the vital life force. It is a set of techniques for breath control and regulation. Regular practice of pranayama improves lung function and reduces anxiety and stress. It is an important part of Yoga. The class will teach you about the connection between mind and breath and how to achieve physical and mental wellness by regulating your vital energy.
Theory / Philosophy:

Meditation is the technique to still the mind and realize your true inner being. It has been practiced in various forms by sages and gurus for thousands of years. Many scientific studies conducted have shown its efficacy in improving focus, reducing stress and fostering a general sense of happiness.
The course teaches you different methods of meditation, how to be consistent in the practice, and proper posture and breathing techniques while sitting for the session.
Theory / Philosophy:
Practices:
Yoga Nidra or psychic sleep is a practice of deep relaxation and meditation that induces a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. It is a powerful tool for reducing stress and anxiety, improving sleep quality, and enhancing mental and emotional wellness. In this subject, students will learn the theory behind Yoga Nidra, the benefits of regular practice, and how to guide themselves and others through a complete Yoga Nidra session. They will also explore different techniques for setting intentions, visualization, and body awareness to deepen their experience of relaxation and inner awareness.
Theory / Philosophy:

Shatkarma, a Sanskrit term outlined in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, refers to one of the six yogic purification techniques known as kriyas. These techniques are designed to maintain the body's strength, cleanliness, and overall health by eliminating toxins and removing any obstructions to the flow of prana in the body.
By practicing shatkarmas, the body is internally purified, which facilitates easier performance of pranayama and meditation without discomfort, distraction, or fatigue. This preparation allows for a more effective and efficient practice of these techniques.
Theory / Philosophy:

Yoga philosophy is a rich and complex system of thought that has evolved over thousands of years. In this subject, students will learn the key principles of yoga philosophy, including the concepts of dharma, karma, and self-realization. They will also explore the various paths of yoga, including bhakti (devotion), karma (action), and jnana (knowledge).
Understanding the human body is essential for a safe and effective yoga practice. In this subject, students will learn the basic anatomy and physiology of the human body, with a specific focus on how it relates to yoga postures and movements. They will learn how to identify and avoid common injuries and how to modify yoga postures to accommodate different body types and abilities.
Ayurveda is a traditional Indian system of medicine often integrated with yoga therapy to enhance its healing benefits. Ayurveda emphasizes a holistic approach to wellness that considers the unique needs of each individual, and includes practices such as diet, lifestyle, and herbal remedies to support overall health and healing. You will also learn certain rules and regulations that govern the delivery of yoga therapy — including professional and ethical standards, scope of practice, informed consent, and confidentiality, among others.

A powerful method for balancing the body and psyche is the use of mudras. The exact interlocking of fingers creates an electromagnetic energy that stimulates and balances the various bodily components. Additionally, this energy facilitates the unrestricted movement of essential energy throughout the body and removes blockages in the channels. Practitioners can maximise the effectiveness of these traditional treatments to restore harmony and equilibrium in their lives by adhering to the suggested protocols and understanding the elemental orientation in the hands.
Bandha is a kind of energy lock done to seal the vital prana inside the body. Knowledge of these bandhas is key to proper yoga practice. The energy flow in the body is intensified and flows under greater pressure when the Bandha is released. Bandhas should be learnt under expert guidance only to avoid complications and achieve optimal benefits.
In a teaching methodology class, it is important to emphasize the sequence of asanas and techniques to ensure a safe and effective practice.
Teachers must also be trained to prevent injuries and modify practices for students with different levels of experience and ability.
The goal of teaching methodology is not only to physically teach yoga but also to manage students' emotions and encourage a sense of happiness and well-being.
By focusing on these key principles, teachers gain confidence and become skilled instructors, enabling them to guide their students for a deeper understanding and appreciation of yoga.
Here is what you will learn:
Mantra chanting is a traditional spiritual practice that involves the repetition of a sacred sound, word or phrase. The vibrations created by the mantra are believed to have the power to transform consciousness, leading to spiritual awakening and a sense of inner peace. In the mantra chanting class, students will learn about the origins of different mantras, the meaning and symbolism behind them, and the proper way to pronounce and chant them.
At the end of the training, students are required to take a written exam and demonstrate their ability to create and lead a safe and effective yoga class. Upon successful completion of the evaluation, students will receive a certificate of completion, indicating that they have met the requirements of the training program. With this certificate, students are eligible to apply for the Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) 200 designation with Yoga Alliance, which allows them to teach anywhere in the world.

Why Vinyasa Yoga Academy
Bali, where rice paddies meet ancient temples and the air itself feels alive. What sets Vinyasa Yoga Academy apart is the balance of authentic tradition, structured curriculum, and a genuinely supportive community. Watch our students describe the experience in their own words, then read what that translates to in practice.
The 100 Hour course is awarded a school certification directly by Vinyasa Yoga Academy, as the 100-hour level is not registered under Yoga Alliance. It offers a beautiful foundation for students who wish to continue later toward a complete 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training journey.
Our teaching lineage comes from Rishikesh, the birthplace of yoga and home of Vinyasa Yoga Academy's founding campus. We bring that deep, traditional knowledge to Bali, blending it with the island's own spiritual richness. The result is an experience that is both authentically yogic and originally Balinese — something very few schools in Bali can offer.
Every instructor on our Bali faculty holds an E-RYT 500 certification, the highest level of Yoga Alliance teaching recognition. With over 10 years of hands-on experience across Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Anatomy, Ayurveda, and Sound Healing, our teachers do not just lead your practice; they transform it. Their depth shows in the way they see you and respond to what you need, not in the way they lecture.
We deliberately keep our groups small. This is not a marketing claim; it is our teaching philosophy. Small groups mean individual focus, personal feedback, genuine conversations, and the kind of one-to-one guidance that turns a course you take into a foundation you actually build on.
With consistent 4.8-star ratings across Google, Trustpilot, and Yoga Alliance, and students arriving from more than 100 countries, Vinyasa Yoga Academy is among the most trusted yoga teacher training schools in Bali and globally. Our students join a lifelong community of international yoga practitioners and teachers.

Become A Successful Yoga Teacher
Yoga has always meant more to us than postures and breathing techniques. From the very beginning, Vinyasa Yoga Academy was built on the belief that real yoga lives in how you treat the world around you. Rishikesh gave us a home, a community, and a purpose, and giving back to this land is something we feel in our bones, not something we planned on a whiteboard.
Over the years, we have worked closely with orphanages in Rishikesh, bringing meals, shelter support, and yoga to children who needed steadiness in their lives. We have also run health awareness camps for families in the local area who rarely get access to basic medical guidance, simple sessions on hygiene, preventive care, and healthy habits that most of us take for granted. We take pride in conducting cleaning initiatives to make the environment cleaner, and we actively advocate waste management methods to improve the community's general health.
