Understanding The Basics

What Is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini Yoga is one of the oldest and most complete systems of yoga, working on the body, mind, breath, and energy all at the same time. Unlike other styles of yoga that focus mainly on physical postures, Kundalini Yoga works on multiple layers of the human system at once. A single Kundalini kriya can calm your nervous system, balance your hormones, sharpen your focus, and open your energy pathways — all in one session.

A Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training is where the practice stops being something you do and becomes something you understand. You learn the science behind the kriyas, the philosophy behind the tradition, and the skills to guide others through an experience as powerful as this one deserves to be.

  • Works On Body, Mind and Energy

Kundalini Yoga works on multiple layers of your system at once — nervous system, hormones, focus, and the subtle energy body. A single kriya can do what most modalities take weeks to deliver, which is why it is such a complete practice.

  • Globally Recognised RYT 200

On completion of the 200 Hour Kundalini YTTC, you receive a VYA completion certificate that qualifies you to register as a Yoga Alliance RYT 200 — a credential accepted by studios, wellness centres, and retreat facilities worldwide.

  • Gateway To 300 Hour Kundalini

This 200 Hour Kundalini course is the direct foundation for the 300 Hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training, where you go further into the science of awakening, refine your teaching, and add advanced specialisations.

Course Structure

Understanding The Structure Of The 200 Hour Kundalini YTTC In Bali

The 200 Hour Kundalini YTTC at Vinyasa Yoga Academy Bali delivers all 200 hours through a transparent combination of live kundalini teaching, guided kriya practice, and integrated self-study — all within your 20 days on campus.

Day by day, this rhythm builds the discipline, awareness, and energetic sensitivity required of a Kundalini teacher. Each subject is revisited regularly so that knowledge is layered through immersion rather than taught in long, isolated blocks — the traditional gurukul method that makes residential training in Bali noticeably different from the same number of hours spread across weekends at home.

Discipline In Our Yoga Community

Disciplines You Need To Follow In Our Yoga Community

At Vinyasa Yoga Academy, discipline is a practice we choose from within, and it begins the moment you arrive. Our Bali training community is rooted in the teachings of Karma Yoga: selfless service, self-inquiry, and conscious living. These principles shape how you share spaces, how you eat, sleep, and show up for your fellow students and teachers every single day. The Balinese spirit of 'Tri Hita Karana', i.e., harmony with people, nature, and the divine, quietly leads everything here, making Bali a uniquely powerful place to truly practice what you learn.

As a student in this programme, you are asked to maintain a sattvic way of living during your yoga training. This means keeping personal and shared spaces clean, refraining from meat, fish, eggs, alcohol, and tobacco, and embracing the early-morning schedule with commitment. These are not restrictions, but tools. They sharpen your focus, calm your nervous system, and create the internal conditions where core shift through learning becomes possible.

  • Every Thursday is observed as a Silence Day, following the traditional practice of "Moana Vratham"
  • Students are encouraged to sleep by 9:30 PM to support the physical demands and early rhythm of the daily schedule

How Your Day Looks Like

Daily Schedule Of The 200 Hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training Course

During the 200 Hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training Course, the day opens at 5:00 AM with kundalini sadhana. From there it builds: kundalini, pranayama and meditation, kundalini theory and asana, teaching practice, and self-study, with each session flowing into the next with the logic of the practice itself.

Mornings are for the body and breath. Afternoons are for the mind. Evenings bring everything back to stillness. By 9:30 PM, lights are out. Lights off by 9:30 PM supports the physical demands of the early morning schedule and is necessary for the depth of what you'll process each day. 20 days of this rhythm does something to you that no weekend workshop can replicate.

Sundays are reserved for excursions — guided visits to Balinese temples, beach meditation sessions, and local cultural experiences. Lunch and dinner are not provided on Sundays, but you can enjoy local cuisine at nearby affordable cafes and restaurants. The schedule below reflects a standard training day, Monday through Saturday.

The three weeks spent at the school exceeded all my expectations. I was not only impressed by the professional knowledge of the prepared and authentic teachers, but also by how much my image of yoga was transformed. I also learned a lot about myself, and I can say that I returned home a different person than I was when I arrived in Rishikesh.

Very good overall, competent teachers, great atmosphere. The food was a bit plain, but I expected that because it had to be yogi food. The accommodation was a bit dirty, but I guess in Indian standards it was ok.

Your Next Step In Yoga

Certification and Career Opportunities After 200 Hour Kundalini YTTC in Bali

Completing the 200 Hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training and registering as a Yoga Alliance RYT 200 gives you an edge in the yoga world. Most RYT 200 teachers come from Hatha or Vinyasa backgrounds. A certified Kundalini teacher with real subject-matter depth stands in a different position, particularly as demand grows for yoga that works on the internal systems, breath, and the energetic body.

Your RYT 200 certification from Yoga Alliance, combined with your training at Vinyasa Yoga Academy, gives you a solid base to start teaching. You can begin leading classes, support workshops, or grow your own practice with confidence. If you want to go further, you can continue with the 300 Hour Kundalini yoga training to deepen your skills and understanding.

What your 200 Hour Kundalini YTT certification can support:

  • Teaching in Studios and Retreat Centres — Kundalini is a specialism, not a generalist style; demand for genuinely trained Kundalini teachers is growing.
  • Corporate Wellness — Kundalini works directly on the nervous system, stress response, and mental clarity, making it highly relevant for workplace programmes.
  • Private and Small-Group Sessions — A Kundalini specialism gives you a clear identity from day one.
  • Online Teaching and Digital Courses — Kriyas, breathwork, chakra meditations, and mantra practices translate naturally to video.
  • Retreat Facilitation — Co-host or lead Kundalini retreats in Bali, Rishikesh, or wherever you are based.
  • Therapy and Healthcare Integration — For therapists, counsellors, and healthcare professionals working with stress and emotional well-being.

Become A Successful Yoga Teacher

We Are Giving Back To Society

Yoga has always meant more to us than postures and breathing techniques. From the very beginning, Vinyasa Yoga Academy was built on the belief that real yoga lives in how you treat the world around you. Rishikesh gave us a home, a community, and a purpose, and giving back to this land is something we feel in our bones, not something we planned on a whiteboard.

Over the years, we have worked closely with orphanages in Rishikesh, bringing meals, shelter support, and yoga to children who needed steadiness in their lives. We have also run health awareness camps for families in the local area who rarely get access to basic medical guidance, simple sessions on hygiene, preventive care, and healthy habits that most of us take for granted. We take pride in conducting cleaning initiatives to make the environment cleaner, and we actively advocate waste management methods to improve the community's general health.

Can I Join The 200 Hrs Kundalini YTTC If I Have Never Practised Yoga Before?

Yes, the 200 Hrs Kundalini Yoga TTC is open to complete beginners and structured to build from first principles. Many of our students arrive with no prior practice. What matters is genuine interest and willingness to commit to the daily schedule for 20 days.

How Long Is The 200 Hour Kundalini YTTC In Bali?

The programme runs for 20 days. Sessions begin at 5:00 AM and conclude by early evening, structured around Kundalini practice, theory, self-study, and meals. Sundays are dedicated excursion days, included in the programme structure.

Does Yoga Alliance Have A Specific Kundalini Teacher Certification?

No. Yoga Alliance does not have a separate registration category for Kundalini teachers. All teachers register under the same RYT 200 credential. Your Kundalini specialisation is communicated via your VYA Kundalini completion certificate.

Is Accommodation Included In The 200 Hour Kundalini YTTC In Bali?

Yes, accommodation is included in the residential 200 Hrs Kundalini YTTC in Bali, with both private and shared room options. Please review the dates and pricing section for the full package breakdown.

What Will I Eat During The 20 Days Of 200 Hrs Kundalini Yoga TTC In Bali?

All meals are freshly cooked sattvic vegetarian food, the traditional diet followed in yogic practice. The food is simple, clean, and prepared to keep your energy steady through the demands of daily training. On Sundays, lunch and dinner are not served on campus, so you get to step out and explore Bali's food scene, which has some genuinely good vegetarian and vegan restaurants.

Do I Need To Be Physically Flexible Or Fit For The 200 Hour Kundalini Yoga TTC In Bali?

No, Kundalini yoga places far less emphasis on physical flexibility than Hatha or Ashtanga. The practice works primarily on breath, energy, and awareness. Students of all body types and fitness levels can practise comfortably.

What Is A Kriya And Will I Practise It Every Day During The 200 Hour Kundalini Yoga TTC?

A kriya is a specific sequence of posture, breath, sound, and mudra designed to produce a precise effect in the body and energy system. Unlike a general yoga flow, every component of a kriya has a specific function. Yes, Kundalini Kriya is central to daily practice throughout this programme.

Is There An Exam At The End Of The 200 Hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training In Bali?

Yes. At the end of the course you will have a short teaching practice and a simple written test. Both are easy to follow and your teachers will prepare you for them throughout the 20 days. There is nothing to stress about.

I Have Never Been To Bali Before. Is It Easy To Get There?

Yes. Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar connects directly to most major cities across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East, with onward connections from Europe and the Americas. Once you land, our team will guide you on getting to the academy. We recommend arriving a day before the course begins so you have time to settle in.

Yes, the training includes teaching practice, guidance, and feedback to help you build confidence and clarity as a teacher.

Can I Continue To The 300 Hour Kundalini YTTC After This Course?

Yes. You can continue directly after this course or return at a later date.

What Should I Bring For This Course?

Bring comfortable clothes for practice, a notebook for your studies, your daily essentials, and a willingness to learn and stay open to the experience.

Is Kundalini Yoga Safe? I Have Heard It Can Be Intense.

Kundalini is a powerful practice. It deserves to be approached with respect rather than fear. When taught with proper structure, experienced guidance, and appropriate lifestyle support, it is safe and deeply beneficial. The risks people associate with Kundalini arise primarily from unstructured or unsupervised practice.

Is There Any Refund Or Rescheduling Policy In VYA?

The 20% booking deposit is non-refundable. If you need to reschedule, you can request a transfer to a future batch provided you notify us at least 30 days before your start date. Your enrolment is valid for one year from the date of your original booking. Contact us at contact@vinyasayogaacademy.com or +62-8132881810 to get personalised help.

What Happens When I Leave, And What Do I Actually Go Home With?

You leave with your VYA 200 Hour Kundalini Completion Certificate, which qualifies you for Yoga Alliance RYT 200 registration. You also leave with a daily Kundalini practice that is yours to keep. Most graduates report that what they take home most meaningfully is not the certificate — it is the change in how they relate to their energy, mind, and practice.
