Bali Campus Faculty
The Bali faculty at Vinyasa Yoga Academy bring a distinct dimension to teacher training — rooted in South and Southeast Asian yoga traditions, and complemented by deep expertise in Naturopathy, Yogic Science, and Ayurveda. Every teacher has been selected for mastery in their domain and for their ability to create an authentic, immersive learning environment in Ubud.
Training in Bali means learning directly from the faculty below — not from substitute instructors.
Yogi Vishnu Panigrahi
Vishnu Ji began practising yoga at the age of 12. He decided to leave his family and friends behind to pursue the yogic path and met his first Yoga Master, Narayan Muni, at Jharsuguda Muni Samaj Yoga Ashram. Years later, he met Swami Niranjan Ji and went deep into Jnana Yoga, the yoga of knowledge and self-inquiry. Time spent at Sri Satya Sai Baba’s ashram brought Karma Yoga into his life, and a heart surgery there changed how he saw everything.
In the year 2001, his decision to become a monk was made, eventually leading him to the holy city of Rishikesh. Here once again, he traversed the Himalayan Yoga Tradition, but this time to never leave it again. Studying under Swami Veda, his greatest teacher, he became a master in the Himalayan Tradition and eventually founded his first yoga school, Vinyasa Yoga Academy, to carry forward what he had received.
He has been leading and teaching here since, welcoming students from all over the world into the tradition that he has lived, not just studied.

Yogi Yansa Ji
Yansa Ji was born in Klungkung, Bali, in 1972. He first came across yoga in the sixth grade, through a book he found by chance. Intrigued, he tried the asanas and began experimenting with movements and breathing exercises. But without a teacher, he could only go a little far. Before yoga became central to his life, he was dealing with serious chronic pain and was taking medication multiple times a day.
The real shift came when a doctor recommended a colonoscopy, and Yansa Ji started exploring fasting as a response. That search led him to Sanyasi Dada Vibhakarananda, who became his first mentor. Under Dada’s guidance, his health changed, and so did his understanding of what yoga could do. He eventually received initiation into the Ananda Marga community and completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training under Master Manohara and Dada Vibhakarananda.
He now teaches yoga and spirituality at Vinyasa Yoga Academy’s Bali courses and retreats. Yansa’s life has blossomed through the practice of Yoga, and he is grateful to share its benefits with the world.

Yogi Shakti Ji
Shakti Ji began his yogic journey at eleven years old, through thathuva dhyanam and traditional Yogam. Over the years, he trained in multiple styles of Yogasana, the traditional Dravidian martial arts, and Kshatriyayoga, a rigorous and less commonly known system of practice. He has completed a 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training and is currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Naturopathy and Yogic Science.
He is diligent in how he teaches and is known for going into real depth with his explanations. Students often say his sessions leave them with clarity about the underlying principles of yoga that they did not have before. He views sharing knowledge as a responsibility, not a performance.
He is extremely disciplined in his personal life as well as in his teachings and loves to give highly detailed instructions to his students.
