Rishikesh Campus Faculty
The Rishikesh faculty at Vinyasa Yoga Academy are lifelong practitioners rooted in the Himalayan tradition. Every teacher holds recognised international credentials — Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500, RPYT, or YACEP — and brings deep specialisation in a specific discipline, from classical Hatha and Kundalini to Yoga Anatomy, Ayurveda, and Prenatal practice. Collectively, the Rishikesh team brings well over 100 years of combined teaching experience.
Training in Rishikesh means learning directly from these faculty members — not from junior assistants or substitute teachers.

Yogi Vishnu Panigrahi
Vishnu Ji began practising yoga at the age of 12. He decided to leave his family and friends behind to pursue the yogic path and met his first Yoga Master, Narayan Muni, at Jharsuguda Muni Samaj Yoga Ashram. Years later, he met Swami Niranjan Ji and went deep into Jnana Yoga, the yoga of knowledge and self-inquiry. Time spent at Sri Satya Sai Baba’s ashram brought Karma Yoga into his life, and a heart surgery there changed how he saw everything.
In the year 2001, his decision to become a monk was made and his journey eventually led him to the holy city of Rishikesh. Here once again, he traversed the Himalayan Yoga Tradition, but this time to never leave it again. Studying under Swami Veda, his greatest teacher, he became a master in the Himalayan Tradition and eventually founded his own yoga school, Vinyasa Yoga Academy, to carry forward what he had received.
He has been leading and teaching here since, welcoming students from all over the world into the tradition that he has lived, not just studied.

Maa Haripriya
Born in the UK to an Indian family, Maa Haripriya felt the pull of the spiritual path from an early age. After years of personal struggle and seeking, she left her life in England to return to India, where yoga became the practice that lifted the veil and brought her back to the present moment. She immersed herself in the wisdom of the Himalayas, learning directly from lineage masters and qualifying as a Kundalini Yoga teacher.
She later mastered Sound Healing, Cacao Rituals, and Reiki — all of which she weaves seamlessly into her Kundalini sessions. She is the lead instructor for all Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training programmes at both the Rishikesh and Bali campuses, and her classes consistently rank as the most transformative experience students report from their time at the academy.

Ashutosh Mishra
Ashutosh Ji was born and raised in Rishikesh. Yoga was part of the culture he grew up in, and his family sent him to study at Patanjali University at a young age. He spent three years there, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Yogic Science, then went on to complete a Master’s in Yoga Therapy from Uttarakhand Sanskrit University. After finishing his master’s, he decided to carry the mantle of promoting yoga and serving all those longing for support.
It was in his genes to relish and explore the revered, ancient art of yoga, and he is strongly rooted in Hatha and Therapeutic yoga. His style of teaching is a dynamic combination of intelligent sequencing and alignment with the body and health condition of the person. He works with both general TTC students and those who come for therapeutic help, and he brings the same attention to both.

Anant Jethuri Ji
Growing up on the banks of the Ganga, Anant Jethuri’s life has been deeply shaped by spiritual masters and the wisdom of ancient sciences. His curiosity about the union of body, mind, and spirit led him to explore the profound connections between Yoga, Anatomy, Physiology, and Ayurveda. With a Master’s in Biology and experience teaching health sciences in Rishikesh, Anant expanded his knowledge through 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training, embracing the healing powers of Ayurveda and Yoga Therapy.
He has a particular gift for explaining how the body works. His anatomy and physiology sessions are among the school’s most popular, as he makes complex material easily understandable. He believes yoga and Ayurveda together offer a complete picture of human health, and he teaches with that conviction.
His approach empowers students to harmonise their body, mind, and soul and achieve optimal health through the synergy of Yoga, Ayurveda, and spirituality.

Dr. Hemlata Saklani Bahuguna
Dr. Hemlata is from “Devbhoomi” Uttarakhand and trained as a physiotherapist at CIMSR Dehradun, specialising in conditions like rib fractures and spinal cord injuries. She then added a PG Diploma and a Master’s degree in Yoga to her clinical background and has spent over a decade working in hospitals and wellness settings.
She teaches Yoga Anatomy and Physio Yoga Therapy, areas where her clinical experience gives her a perspective that very few yoga teachers can develop. She understands the body from the inside, and that is reflected in how she approaches each student. Her sessions are methodical and warm, and she gives people something most yoga training skips — a real breakdown of what they are doing to their bodies and why it helps.
Her compassionate approach guides her patients and students towards a pain-free, wholesome, and spiritually enriched life.
