Early modern psychology was defined as the study of the soul or mind. Yoga psychology provides for us a synthesis of both yoga and psychology and helps provide for us a clearer understanding of consciousness and human behaviour. Yogic concepts, principles and techniques play a strong role in understanding psychology in the world today as we reexamine what it means to be human and the relevance our lives place within these concepts of a deeper understanding. Ancient literature of yoga has been used in a vast array of psychological studies, so much so that it often surpasses the abilities of modern psychology to progress in our understanding of the world.
